Deportation Defense

Prior to deporting (or “removing”) a foreign national, the U.S. government must generally give the individual the opportunity to appear before an Immigration Judge and, if eligible, apply for some form of relief from removal.  Examples of relief from removal include asylum, cancellation of removal, and voluntary departure.  Individuals placed in removal proceedings may be represented by an attorney.
